Africa Day Toronto - A Cultural Fusion Celebration Of People, Music, Visual Art And Fashion Entertainment!

Music Africa of Canada Inc., parent company of the largest free African Music Festival in North America AFROFEST, collaborates with Africa All Star Music Fest and African Fashion Week Toronto to present this year’s Africa Day celebration. This 2nd edition of the Africa Day celebration in Toronto highlights the togetherness of the African community, the richness of its cultural heritage and the immense talent of African artists and art creators in Toronto. Peter Toh, Executive and Artistic Director of Music Africa of Canada Inc. indicates that, “this is a unique event which captures the beauty and diversity of African cultural heritage, uplifts African culture and empowers African people.” The highly anticipated event will take place on Friday May 25th at Noir inside Rebel Toronto located at 11 Polson Street, Toronto, ON M5A 1A4. The event will open with a red carpet welcome set to begin at 9:00pm and then doors will officially open at 10:00pm.

The evening promises to offer a magical fusion of visual art, fashion, music, dance and an overall entertaining lineup. Visual artists, Ray Creates Art, Saby 974 along with Ren Thomas, will create and display beautiful artistry at the event. The fashion show presented by African Fashion Week Toronto, will feature three local designers; ZNAK Designs, Phresh Empire and AJS Fashion featuring its new collection, Nykwale. Celebrity DJ and music producer – DJ Cuppy will present some of her latest hit singles and there will be special performances by Nigerian Canadian recording artist Kelly Anthony, Congolese artists Cloclo Claudel & Shimbargo and multinational dance group ADL Dancers. 

Attendees can expect entertainment variety, a powerful musical score and top quality visuals from the beginning of the night all the way to the end.

Music Africa is a not-for-profit community-based organization that promotes African music in Toronto through its annual flagship music festival AFROFEST.
