Kinabuti at the Afro Beat Edition of Glo Naija Sings!

Glo Naija Sings, from the stable of M-Net, Africa’s largest TV content provider, which is back for its third season, bigger, better, bolder definitely had us glued to our screens with last week’s show “Afro Beat Night“. All five contestants, all vying for the coveted $100,000 prize, were looking super fly in various African-inspired outfits from the stable of Kinabuti. The fashion brand renowned for its blend of African vibrant prints, contemporary designs and eclectic finish was chosen to dress and style contestants the host, Darey and backstage presenter, Denrele Edun. The styling for this week’s show, which was also a celebration of the iconic legend Fela and afro beat, had an interpretation of sophisticated and ubber stylish designs. 
 
In line with its mark for raising the bar, Kinabuti, erstwhile known as a female fashion brand, used this medium to showcase designs from its new male line. With both hosts and male contestants wearing varying pieces made from jersey, aso-oke, to bold African prints, creating very stylish looks and definitely heating up the stage. The new male collection is for the upbeat guy with an ethnic yet edgy, casual but classy look.

The label also officially aired its very first promo video on Mnet West, channel 102 and AfricaMagic, channel 114 both on Dstv.  The video which was shot at the new Kinabuti studio, and directed by ace videographer, Tunde Anjorin, and an initiative of Kinabuti Lab  (The social arm of Kinabuti Ltd, featuring models from its pilot project, “In our Ghetto”, “Kinabuti girls”), a group of 21 young ladies from communities of Bundu Waterside, Eleme, Marine Base Waterside and Igbikisikalama in Port Harcourt. These girls have so far worked in various fashion related projects ranging from the Rivers State Fashion show, The “Goodluck Celebrity Endorsement Concert” hosted in Port Harcourt, City People Fashion Show, Elan magazine fashion shoot, The Nehemiah Project and more recently, they were part of the shoot of the very first TV AD commercial shot for a brand of Martini brand in Africa.
