Passion For Motherland

Lisette Mibo is an award winning Congolese model based in London and organiser of “Passion for Motherland”, a fundraising event bringing together an eclectic mixture of live music, poetry and fashion showcase for a deserving charitable cause. The event will take place on the 10th of August 2013, at the renowned Amnesty International in London. Fashion designers from different backgrounds and cultures are to showcase their work throughout the event, raising money for the charity “Save The Congo”- a charity where model; Lisette Mibo serves as a “Good-Will Ambassador”.

Passion For Motherland is a platform created to bring like-minded individuals together to celebrate, network and discover new talent, burgeoning creativity in the fields of fashion, music and poetry whilst at the same time raising awareness. All funds from ticket sales will go directly to the charity ‘Save The Congo’.

Save the Congo is a charity campaigning to tackle the four major problems that give rise to killings, raping, uprooting and abuses in Congo. As well as entertainment on the night, light refreshments will also be served and guests will be invited to raise even more money through participation at the raffles and auctions that will be taking place throughout this eventful night.


Lisette Mibo is an award-winning model, human rights campaigner and a mother; Lisette is one of the most sought-after fashion models in London. She has strutted on the catwalk for many Established and up-coming top designers, modelled for hair, fashion and retail companies, earned appearances at international Catwalk-shows in Africa (Congo Fashion Week), London Fashion Week and Africa Fashion Week London, featured in many ad campaigns and brochures, and appeared on the covers of many magazines. Moreover, in October 2012, she was awarded ‘Best Female Model of the Year’ at the BEFFTA Awards. Additional to her achievements; she was awarded ‘Best Female Model’ at the 1st edition of the Congolese Achievement Awards 2013 in London. A native of Congo, Lisette was born on September 1987 in Kinshasa, the birthplace of infectious Afro rhythms and dances. She began modelling at age 18 whilst a student. Her beautifully proportioned lean figure has made her a passion for camera; a pleasing sight for the on-lookers; and a rising star in the industry and she has been photographed by many UK based fashion photographers…

Lisette lives in London. She speaks French and English. She likes to design clothes and spending quality time with her daughter when she’s not working; and since January 2012, she has been serving as Save the Congo Goodwill Ambassador.
