Showcase: Sanofi Sponsors 4th African Diabetes Congress

Sanofi, a world leader in the health sector is an official sponsor of the 4th Africa Diabetes Congress(ADC) set to take place in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This edition of the annual event fixed for the 3rd – 5th of April 2019 is held under the theme: “Diabetes and Digital Health”.


With its Diabetes and Hypertension Clinics, Sanofi has provided a solution for better management of patients suffering from the deadly disease in sub-saharan Africa. 31 clinics are now operational, including 15 in Côte d'Ivoire, 9 in Senegal and 7 in Cameroon.
The Congress organised by the Africa Diabetes Congress Limited is a perfect opportunity for the African Diabetes community to cross fertilize and also mingle with international renowned experts in diabetes. Beside their sponsorship role, Sanofi will be heading 2 of 25 symposia on state-of-the-art lectures, meet the expert and afternoon sessions at the congress.
The ADC also features the most recent diabetes evidence and best practice to underpin the improvement in diabetes care, treatment and prevention adapted to the Africa region. Activities at this 3 day congress will include presentations, plenary lectures, medical education sessions and much more, organized in 4 parallel streams.
Sanofi has worked for over 40 years in the sub-region, transforming scientific innovation into health solutions, raising awareness about diseases, supporting the training of health professionals, and improving access to healthcare in partnership with health authorities.
With Africa spending a meagre 0.5% of global health expenditure on diabetes, it is imperative that the Africa Diabetes community come together to generate innovative home-grown solutions for optimal prevention, detection and management of diabetes on the continent.
