Bikini Under The Bridge : Hot Designs In The Summertime

So what are you wearing to the beach this summer, are you rocking a black and white checked monokini? Maybe you're in the market for a neon blue two-piece with white piping. If you are looking for chic, daring and different then the Bikini Under the Bridge show would have given you plenty of ideas. If you are a swimwear designer then you are more than interested in showing off your collections in one of New York's well known swimwear events.

On July 8, 2012 JRG Entertainment presented the seventh annual Bikini Under The Bridge runway fashion Show.  Designers that took part in the event represented, Europe, the U. S., and the Caribbean. Adiani C. Fashions, Moorsecode  Fabric Twinz, yardrock, Escape the Jungle ME, Silver Mosquito Naked Roots Colefacts, Johana Sarria, and Margeille Fashions presented an interesting variety of swimwear. There were also brilliant accessories, and the shoes by John Ashton complemented the designs superbly.

The collections featured edgy use of patterns, colors and shapes. the Fabric Twinz designs used colors that ranged from warm pastels to basic blacks and whites. The fabrics also featured variations on traditional animal prints. Escape the Jungle sent designs down the runway that played with shapes an patterns. One of the stand out pieces was a black and white checkered open front bikini. Silver Mosquito's collection used daring cutaway shapes to provide variation. RG Entertainment chose it's designers well, after seven years of producing the event they are very good at spotting new talent. the event also featured some up and coming musical talent as well. Among the featured musical acts for the day were; Izzauyddyn (Ya Boy Izz), Futuristic Lingo, and Dimitri McDowell.
Bikini Under the Bridge provides a platform for designers without the resources to present their collections at some of the larger shows like MBFW Swim. The event's name comes from it's original venue located in the neighborhood locally called DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) in Brooklyn New York. the neighborhood encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to  Manhattan across the  East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area. This year the event took place in the outdoor parking area of the Brooklyn Academy of Music in downtown Brooklyn.
