Women & Fashion Film Festival

The Women & Fashion Film festival began on June 3, with a red carpet event at the Gold Bar on 389 Broome Street in NYC. Supermodels such as Grace Bol, and Nykhor Paul posed for pictures on the red carpet along with legendary supermodel Pat Cleveland. Now in it's second year, the event was attended by many prominent women in fashion, film, and entertainment. 
The festival screened films, and conducted panel discussions on various issues affecting women in the industry. The panel topics   included an examination of the  mother - daughter dynamic. During the panel titled ; "The Finding Your Passion, Building a Bright Future."   Panel member Nykhor Paul gave a moving account of how her life has been affected by the conflict in South Sudan. she spoke of her immigration to the U.S. and her journey into modeling. Grace Bol, and Claudia Mason were also on the panel and spoke about their personal growth on the path to pursuing their passion
The Festival concluded with the Empowering Girls event that featured a fashion show in which young high School student were among the models and event designed a couple of the the outfits. Model Scout Karen Lee spoke to the girls about the options open to them in the fashion world. Supermodel Pat Cleveland spoke about the need for a positive work ethic and attitude as an essential part of being a model. The Women & Fashion Film Fest is wonderful opportunity to focus on fostering a much more diverse and balanced environment for women in this industry to support each other and nurture the next generation. Jeanine Jeo-Hi Kim is the Founder & Executive Director, and Paul van Ravenstein serves as the festival's Director. The WFF is described as a socially responsible event gathering leaders in fashion, entertainment, and media to support women.
