The Project

There is tremendous work going on at Disney to make this reboot of The Lion King as epic as possible through the use of state of the art computer animation and pulling together cast made up of the very best for the voice overs. This is where they snagged none other than Beyoncé for the role of Nala. She recently posted short clips of her voice as Nala and this has caused enormous commotion all over social media. Fans are practically freaking out since hearing her in character for the first time.

She posted a 30-second spot to her YouTube channel, and it features a first listen to her voice acting as Nala in the Disney remake. This quote was part of the spot.

"Simba, you have to take your place as king," says Nala. "We need you. Come home."

The 30-second spot got fans drooling all over the internet and some have even proclaimed her as being a front-liner for an Oscar this time around.

How important this is for Bey as an artist

Beyoncé takes playing Nala very seriously as we could all see in what she wore to The Wearable Art Gala that. Bey donned the most exquisite jumpsuit we have ever seen. She exposed her inner lioness in the sparkly body lace jumpsuit which had a train made of taffeta. What made the outfit unprecedented was the face of the lioness right of her chest! The photos are astonishing. Who can beat that?

Other voices in this remake include Donald Glover as Simba, JD McCrary (young Simba), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Shahadi Wright Joseph (Young Nala),Billy Eichner (Timon), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa) and Alfre Woodard (Sarabi).

The Lion King which originally brought in more than 968 million dollars worldwide is part of a string of remakes from Disney.

The Lion King opens July 19.
