Ethiopia Airlines operated an all women flight within Africa .

December 2017 has witnessed the breaking of new grounds in the aviation industry in Africa, with Ethiopian Airlines having its first ever all women crew, operating a flight from Addis Ababa to The Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. The pilot, Captain Amsale Gualu who had previously headed similar flights in the region, led the all women crew from pilot and cabin crew to in flight ramp operators and dispatchers on the ground. Gualu who has flown a bombardier before is also set to soon fly the Boeing 777.

Malawi Airlines is also making great achievements this year as they have had their own all female crew flight headed by Captain Yolanda Ndala-Kaunda.
These, constitute considerable feats in the aviation industry as a whole and Africa in particular where the profession, like many others, is male dominated. Congratulations to Ethiopia Airlines and Africa.
