Five Dead and One Missing in Limbe Floods

Floods have inundated several homes and properties destroyed in Limbe South West Region of Cameroon. Reports say five persons have been recorded dead and one person missing. A torrential downpour that lasted for several hours left scores of houses and quarters like Mabeta, Motowo, Church Street, Manga Williams Avenue, Clerk's Quarters, and Down Beach among others in large pools of rain water.

Gurgling run-offs from several of the steep slopes of the town swept down large quantities of debris and filled up most of the drainage channels and gutters downtown. Activities were equally paralyzed. Limbe like other parts of Cameroon is faced with a similar situation. The question remains what will happen if these cities are hit by a heavy storm when it can rain for days non-stop?
