Go Africa Festival in Harlem

The Go Africa Network Inc. in conjunction with the Association Nationale Des Senegalais D Amerique Inc. presented the Go Africa Harlem Street Festival. The street festival took place within the boundaries of Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard (7th Avenue) and Frederick Douglass Boulevard (Eighth Avenue) on 116 street this July 16th between the hours of 10am – 7pm

The Street Festival provided local and regional merchants that have African and African related goods and services space on 116th street. One of the business represented was Bebenoir Boutique which currently carries a line of t-shirts created by Sudanese supermodel Nykhor Paul. The shirts come in Black, and white with the words "South Sudan". They also include the phrase " We Are Nilotic" and list the various peoples that live in the South Sudan region. It is all part of an effort to educate people about the life threatening problems faced by the people of South Sudan.

Fabariq couldn't pass up the opportunity to give you a "lookbook" look at Nykhors new t-shirt line

It was a great day of celebration with great people, great food, and great music. This first Go Africa Festival was a success and drew a diverse crowd from the surrounding neighbourhood and those just visiting the area. Have a look at what we saw.
