Ovamba Solutions has confirmed that Viola Llewellyn, Chief Operations Officer will be a panelist at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) 45th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) on September 18th 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The invitation to participate on the panel came from the office of Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, Democratic Representative for the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The panel entitled “Economic Development Through Technology for the Afro Diaspora” is part of the “Business, Economic Development & Wealth Creation Track” taking place at 2pm on Friday September 18th, 2015. This discussion aims to explore the importance of technology as an economic development tool for the African Diaspora. Viola Llewellyn said of the invitation, “It is a singular honour to contribute to the Congresswoman’s vision to see closer ties between Africa and the Caribbean. In this ever changing global economy Technology bridges the gap not just between continents, it enables the exchange of ideas and commerce.”
Ovamba has been on the forefront of technology on the African continent for almost 2 and a half years. Before this, the Co-Founders, Marvin Cole and Viola Llewellyn had been active in many areas of Afro-Diasporan engagement and business development. These efforts included a number of trade missions from the USA to the CEMAC region (combined cluster of 6 Central African Nations) and most recently from Cameroon to the USA. “Ovamba was proud to have had the Congresswoman’s support for the Cameroonian Delegates. Rep. Stacey Plaskett has worked consistently to promote long term business collaboration between Africa, the Afro Caribbean community and the African American Community”, noted, Ms. Llewellyn. She also added, “The CBCF’s mission to advance the global black community and promote financial wealth and empowerment through innovation mirrors the goals of Ovamba”.
On the final day of this conference President Barack Obama will serve as the keynote speaker for the 45th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) Phoenix Awards Dinner. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m., Saturday, September 19th 2015.
