Over 10 companies Awarded at the 5th Edition of the Corporate Awards - Douala 2019

Like in past Editions, the creme de la creme of the Corporate Cameroon were present: from CEOs of reputable companies and multinationals, to management executives and employees all showed upto celebrate Excellence in People Management.


This year's awards began with the Corporate Women in Leadership Summit, in the morning hours which brought together female executives from different sectorsand young corporates in an exchange forum under the theme, “An Alpha Female Changes Everything” .


The two panel discussion summit opened with a speech from the Executive Director of the summit, Lety Endeley during which she highlighted the importance of recognising an Alpha Woman and being a part of her pack. Viola Llewelyn, Co-founder and CEO of Ovamba opened Panel one with a powerful keynote speech encouraging females to unlock their potential and reach greater heights.


Panel one was made up of: Mr Fointama Che, Regional Corporate Communications Officer UBA CEMAC, Madam Aissatou Seydi HR Manager, COTCO Cameroon; Mme Solange Kuimo Marketing Consultant and Mme Jorgo Dinsa, CEO of Miracle Voyage.


Panel two was made up of: Mrs Rosy Penda Communications & CSR Manager, IHS Cameroon; Mme Christine Enyegue CSR specialist Addax Petroleum; Mrs Julienne Tchato Primary Care Sanofi and Mme Djenabou Soleyman, HR Manager NHPC. They deliberated on different perspectives centered around the theme and for the first time ever, the conference ended with a 1st Edition Masterclass on “Negotiating your way to the Boardroom” by Viola Llewelyn. Participants departed with a world of knowledge, a bank of contacts from networking and gifts from Nestle.

The Award ceremony kicked off at 8pm with a keynote address by business man, serial entrepreneur and President of Go Ahead Africa,Roland Kwemain. In his speech he emphasized the importance of good HR policies within companies. According to him, every successful organisation must have among other qualities clear goals or objectives, a healthy working environment, and above all learn how to manage conflicts effectively. The Corporate Awards is dedicated to companies, who have invested in or have made significant and innovative solutions in managing their human resources. This year’s awards were divided into four main groups- Winners by Online voting, Winners by Internal Research, Individuals awards and also recognition of the Corporate Women In Leadership Mentors.


The online winners are:

Corporate Social Responsibility - Nestle.


Employer of Choice Awards-Les Brasseries Du Cameroun

Innovative Company Award - CBC Bank.

Health Safety and Environment - Addax Petroleum S.A

 

 

Internal Research winners are :

Employer of Choice - OLAM Cameroun

Innovative Company- OVAMBA

Corporate Social Responsibility- IHS Cameroun

Investor in People’s - Zenithe Insurance S.A.

Customer Service - DHL

Equal Opportunity - SANOFI Cameroun


 

For the Individual Awards category, Lety Endeley was awarded with the Transformational Leader Award,Fidele Kengne and Roland Kwemain were honoured with Change Agent Awards while Jacques Ndjamba Mbeleck won the Innovative Leader Award.

Meanwhile, laureates of the Corporate Women in Leadership Mega Mentor Awards are: Mme Solange Aimee Kuimo, Marketing Consultant: Mme Hélene Ndengoue, General Manager Blessing Petroleum S.A; Mme Adama Diatta Head of Logistics Bollore and Dr Elizabeth Fon, Founder of Tesho Foundation.


At the end of the awards, laureates of the night thanked the FabAfriqteam and the Corporate Awards Board for the recognition. Vanessa Che Ijeoma, Head of Communications, Zenithe Insurance; Hontense Lengue Mbangue, Head of Customers Service at DHL, Marvin Cole, Global CEO of Choirman and Jacqueline Patcha, Director of Supply at ADDAX Petroleum, all said the awards will spur their companies to work harder to provide more solutions to the challenges ailing corporations in Cameroon as well as encourage them to share their policies with other nominees to inspire growth and change.


Speaking to the press after the event, the founder of Corporate Awards and CEO of FabAfriq, Adeline Sede Kamga, expressed gratitude to her team for making the event a resounding success. She said all the companies honoured are companies that shared their corporate stories with the team. She gave the rendez vous for London 2020,during which all participating companies since 2016 will be invited to take part in a corporate exchange which will bring together top companies from Cameroon, Gabon, Cote D’Ivoire and Senegal to share their corporate stories with renowned companies in Europe and exchange for growth.

In her words of thanks, she said, “We are going to publish a journal in which we will be sharing the corporate stories of awarded companies from all Editions over the past five years”. .

The groundwork for the mega 2020 London Corporate Exchange has begun and it is with great enthusiasm that we look forward to the biggest Corporate Awards yet!
