20 years old Stacie Aamito claims the crown of the first ever African version of Top Model created by Tyra Banks and hosted by Oluchi, which held in New York. She arose victorious after a successful knock out of 11 other contestants. The finalists included alongside Nigeria’s Opeyemi Awoyemi and Michaela Pinto from Angola.She took home $50,000 in prize money, a contract with New York-based agency DNA Model Management, a one-year contract as ambassador for South African Tourism and an endorsement deal with P&G. Stacie Aamito began modelling at the age of 16, with Arapapa models and is a Uganda Christian University graduate.
Africa's Top Model is hosted by supermodel Oluchi Onweagba, Italian designer Luca Orlandi's wife. Oluchi is a renowned and successful model who has featured in top magazines such as Italian Vogue, i-D, Elle, and Surface and has paraded on run ways for designers like Victoria Secret, Christian Dior, and Giorgio Armani.
